The basic Black Jack Game Strategy rules

1. do not take the Insurance option (as Insurance is one of the ways the house takes its income from, it is applicable only for professional counters, that know exactly when the croupier has got a ten in the hole);

2. always split 8’s (as the hand of 16 is a stiff hand, it is highly probable to lose and not likely to win);

3. ignore splitting tens (as all the ten valued cards are thought to be of the same rank)

4. give up on 16 against dealer ten etc.

There are moreover “rule variations” that influence the basic Black Jack Game Strategy, one of those is the number of decks and whether the dealer hits or stands on soft 17. Other variables are if the Surrendering option is offered, to what quantity of hands is Splitting option allowed, is the Doubling option permitted after split and so on.

Correct use of the Basic strategy for a while results in lowering the casino probability from 7-8% to nearly 1%. This is very great for the player as it increases his winning chances.

Using this tactics with card counting gives an impressive edge to the player. Nevertheless, any gambler using the Basic strategy should bear in mind that the Basic Blackjack tactic does not promise that the player will most probably win, it just provides the best statistical solution for each hand depending on all the odds and winning probabilities.
